The Jaxon 5

Today is my little guy's 5th birthday. Now I know that we've been celebrating for close to a month now, but I think he's worth it!

I can't believe that Jaxon is five years old. Where has the time gone? He has been an absolute joy and light in our lives. He truly is the glue that keeps this crazy family together! He came into the world with flare (7 weeks early!) and he's been keeping us on his toes ever since!

Jaxon loves so many things in life. He finds happiness in everything he does. He mimics everything and everyone around him. I've never seen a kid with such a talent, and at his age. He cracks us up every single day. The kid never forgets anything! And he is by far one of the most polite kids I know. He says "Thank You" for absolutely everything, and is never prodded to do so! One of my favorite statements that he says is "I'm so proud that you bought me that treat!" Or something similar...but that is usually what he starts out with when Thanking Chris and I for something that we've done for him.

He is extremely complimentary and knows how to win you over with his 20-year old charm. Jaxon tells me on a daily basis how "beautiful" that I am. And the kid always recognizes when I have on a new outfit or dress. He is very into how his Mommy looks. He compliments me every time I get my hair done also! And every day he tells me that I'm his Best Friend. I love the way this little guy loves me.

Some things that Jaxon loves:
  • Mac n' Cheese and Chocolate Milk (He orders it wherever we go!)
  • Corn on the Cob
  • Marshmallow Cereal, Pop Tarts, or Donuts for breakfast (I suck as a mom!)
  • Getting a Strawberry Milk Shake after school
  • "Hot Chocolate, Chocolate Milk" from Beans & Brews
  • Anything "Cars" related
  • Helping his mommy out in the yard - "Mommy you're the best raker I never saw!"
  • Snuggles with Mommy (Both in the middle of the night and early in the morning!)
  • When Daddy puts his PJ's in the dryer to make them warm.
  • Playing all of daddy's creative and silly games
  • Reading his books from school and doing his "numbers" (That's homework!)
  • Going to the "Big Movie Feater" (We've taken him to movies since he was 6 wks old)
  • Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
  • His dog Zoey
  • Flying in the airplane with Mommy
  • HIS Grandma and CRANpa
  • Sleepovers at Grandma's house
  • Watching his Uncle David play Baseball
  • Playing the Wii (he's better than all of us at Guitar Hero)
  • Chasing Bubbles
  • Eating Birthday Cake
  • Watching Twilight
  • Dancing to "Step-Up 2"
  • Watching American Idol "Mommy that just breaks my heart when that boy goes home!"

Things that Jaxon does NOT like:

  • Anything on his hands or being dirty in any way
  • Getting wet
  • BUGS, BUGS, BUGS, but especially Flies or Bees
  • Spaghetti with "Red stuff"
  • Getting up in the morning
  • When Mommy goes on the plane without him
  • When his older siblings won't play with him
  • When all of his older siblings go home, leaving him alone
  • When Daddy doesn't let him have Snuggles with Mommy
  • Being grounded from the Wii

I truly cannot imagine our life without this kid! I love him with all my heart and I'm looking forward to all the years ahead of us together!

Happy Birthday Pookie! Mommy loves you soooooo much!

Jaxon snuggling on Mommy's tummy after coming home from the NICU! He still loves to snuggle!

He was such a cute little toddler! I want to eat his cheeks and fat toes!
What a studly 5-Year Old!

Did I mention that Jaxon HATES Flies and Bugs?!?!?!!!

For Jaxon's birthday party we wanted to recreate some of his favorite moments from our recent trip to Disneyland. We had face-painting, bubbles, pictures with Mickey Mouse, and his favorite Birthday Dessert! We had a total blast!

We finished off the night by breaking out our new Fire pit and roasting Marshmallows!

Let the Summer BBQ's Begin!

We are putting a lot of effort into our yard this year. Last year just wasn't going to happen with all that we had going on in our lives at the time. But this year we are learning all about landscaping, rock wall gardens, and having a total blast.

Here are some pics of the before and after of our new Patio Gazebo. Many more before and after garden/yard pics to come!

Jaxon loves helping his "Cranpa!"
