Thankful Thursdays

Here it goes! I'm Thankful for.....

1) A GNO with the Sistership and my little Cydnee and "you-had-to-be-there" to appreciate our fun! We were in search of the High School Muscial 3 film set, unfortunately they changed their location last minute and they only thing we found was an empty parking lot. So Hayley and I spent the evening driving Sammy and Cydnee around town, "looking" for the set, entertaining ourselves with our own photoshoot, and well Sammy and Cydnee were not so entertained. Nonetheless we all had fun and ended the night with a sleepover at my house!

2) A Rainy Memorial Day! - Seeing that we had nowhere sunny to go, we spent the day at the Movies! Chris and the older kids went to "Indiana Jones" and Jaxon and I went to "Narnia 2". Oh and of course Chris and the kids got to see the movie trailer for TWILIGHT! Whatever! I stayed afterwards and snuck into another showing to see it, but of course they showed different previews. Whatever!

3) Being in the Right Place at the Right Time... Another Memorial Day reference here, but because of the rain and because of the double movie feature we were doing, we happened to be at the movie just at the same time as a very dear and extremely special friend of mine. I haven't seen her in months and it was such a great surprise to see her there and to have her family with her. I love her dearly!

4) Short work weeks! Thank Heavens it's already Thursday and I am almost through with this terrible week!

5) SLEEPOVERS! How can you not want to
snuggle with that all night long?

Moonlight Fans...Protesting Abroad

Hey MickGals...

So, we've all been in a depressive state since they announced two-weeks ago that dumb CBS would not be returning our beloved Mick in the fall. However, if you've been following the story on the internet at all (and I have) it has caused a major frenzy! "WE" are just not willing to let go. And thank heavens for that! Let's hope all this frenzy goes somewhere and CBS pulls their heads out and brings our Mick back and/or the CW network or SciFi Channel does.

Either way the latest and greatest is that on Memorial Day there is going to be a HUGE protest ralley in Hollywood at the Universal Studios Producing company's lot to show support for bringing the show back. Also, they group sponsoring the protest is running two very large ads in two of the largest run newspapers in Los Angeles over the weekend.

If you haven't already, and you want to be a part of the protest, you can send an email to CBS, or you may also add comments/complaints to one of the gazillion posts floating out there regarding the cancellation. Just simply Google CBS Moonlight.

And for all you others out there who may be laughing hysterically at me and my fellow Mick lovers thinking once again I have lost my mind, well, just take a gander at his pic, or watch an episode online and you'll see what we're talking about...Justin Timberlake ain't got SexyBack on this Mick baby! MmmHmm! That's right! HA HA HA!

p.s. I attached a Video below that was a Series Premiere Ad...be still my heart...makes me so mad!

Thankful Thursdays

So apparently a friend of my Sister Samantha has started a weekly BLOG tradition, that Samantha has now taken on, in which one designated day a week you are to list five items that you are grateful for! This simple task will help keep you focused on the good in your life and take focus off all the bad for just a moment. Sammy's Blog has led to one of my close friend doing this, and now I am going to do this as well. So lets see how far we can keep this moving forward. Pick a day of the week and make it your day to be Grateful! And then let us all know so that we share in all the joy and happiness! There just isn't enough of that going around! So here are my five things that I am Thankful for today:

The Sistership! Thanks Sammy for the Idea!

Grey's Anatomy Finale - My Escapism Tonight from a VERY LONG WORK DAY!
(For anyone who missed it...I will gladly watch it again with you; I have it saved!)

Friendship. Treasure it. Feed it every day. It's a very special gift. I'm thankful for all the gifts in my life!

Time Alone... After my long day, it was nice to just unwind with a nice hot bubble bath, listening to some Colbie Callait in the background!

Humor...We all need it in our lives! And today, this just sums it all up for me!

Jaxon Turns Four! Happy Birthday Pookie

So, it's almost a week later and I have enough guilt to go around for everyone for having to have traveled and miss Jaxon's actual birthday, but I think he survived and I believe we made up for it. Chris's family was actually suppose to be out here this week so we had actually had planned months ago to move his birthday celebration to the weekend, and therefore I was going to go to Atlanta during the week. But when his family had to cancel, and his birthday came, and Mommy wasn't there, the sting of that was pretty painful. Especially since our plan to "ignore" his birthday was squashed by daycare having a big celebration for him! Chris picked Jaxon up that afternoon and Jaxon ran to him wearing a huge Birthday crown scream "Daddy! Today's my Birthday!" Thanks guys! I suck! It took me an entire five days to get over that one!

Jaxon must have changed his mind three or four times on the theme of his birthday party. He at first wanted Horton! But of course no Elephant themes were around. Then he switched to Alvin and the CHICKmunks...and again...NO themes to go with that either. So the morning before I left for Atlanta, Jaxon and I snuggled in bed and got on mom's "compooter" and he finally decided on Spiderman! Whew! So after after being gone all week in Atlanta, we all woke up early on Saturday, the day of Jaxon's party and we all "struggled" to put a party together. But eventually, our efforts prevailed, and Pookie, bless his precious little heart, got his Spiderman party!

Everyone showed up around 6:30 and the party began! Jaxon was so excited to have all his "pals" a.k.a. cousins here! The kids all did what they always do which is instantly run around in a complete frenzy (Which Aunt Nat loves...truly!) and the rest of us just sat around doing what we do best...feeding our faces and poking fun at whomever isn't here. Which in this case was Jr! And while we're on the subject...David, just because you are in "dating" mode doesn't mean you are exempt from family functions! You have been gone for two years...get your butt to your Nephews' and Nieces' birthdays! Alright!

Uncle Boyd was in town which was a great addition to the guest list. I of course enjoyed giving him the Cole version of "Uncle Ralph's Home Tour" and while that was happening, Uncle Ryan took the kids all to the park! Thanks Ryan for the repreave!

We eventually did get to presents and Jaxon was beyond thrilled. Princess Isabelle of course STILL has a difficult time understanding that she doesn't get to open everyone's presents at every birthday. And of course it's always one of us that has to break her heart in sending her over to her mom! (Thanks Stacey for stepping in!) But eventually, Jaxon got through his presents and he was so excited. Chris and I took a bit of crap for getting him his own "HiPod" but ya'll need to remember how old his siblings are and that he's a bit old for his age because of it. He was so happy and well that's all that counts. Judge away I guess! :-)

We quickly had Spiderman Cake and Ice Cream because that's what Jaxon wanted. And then that's when Jaxon took on his Uncle Jett in a battle of Guitar Hero. Uncle Boyd had never seen or heard of Wii, let alone Guitar Hero so he was in for a real treat! However the real treat was seeing Jett being humbled by his four-year old Nephew! Jaxon wooped him! Go Jaxon! It was awesome! We all had a great evening!

Anyway...it was a really long day, but well worth it, and I hope you had a great birthday Pookie! Mommy loves you soooo much!

My Wish (Yeah - The song playing Has Meaning Here!)

So another Mother's Day is upon us and I was thinking about where my life has been and gone in the past year. Chris was trying to help me remember all that was exactly going on that particular weekend last year and neither one of us could remember all the details. But what we both could remember was how difficult of a time it was for us, but especially for me on that particular day. My health was progressively getting worse at that point with little help or good news from doctors. My relationship with Chase was at an all-time low and his behavior was getting more and more out of control. And it was at that very week that he had told me that he no longer wanted to live with me. And even on Mother's Day itself I found myself with little love coming from the kids. Chris of course tried, but then again, whatever activity that was taking up our time and emotions just took away from everything. Whatever it was, it was overwhelming enough that we've both blocked it out. We think it was us preparing somehow to move out one of the upteen times of our house, but who knows. All-in-all, I just know, the day just wasn't a good one.

So now a year later, here I am. I've made it through a horrific surgery and hysterectomy. A cancer scare turned out to be just that. Chase is living with his dad now, but we finally have doctors helping us with his issues, and he is finally getting back to his sweet happy self. We have been in our home for almost a year now and so thankful for that. And as I think about this Sunday, the only thing I can think of is I am just so thankful that I have this Sunday to be here for. I didn't think I would be here; I truly didn't. And I guess, I just wanted to take the time somehow to capture my thoughts on what being a mom means to me.

I have joked with each of you reading this, or even cried with you at some point about how we all feel like we have failed as moms. Did I mess up this? Did I mess up that? Did I do them wrong by this? Did I do them wrong by that? Stay at home? Work? Don't Work? Day care? Home School? No School? Long Hair? Who Cares? What????? So many things we worry about every minute of every day. But at the end of the day, I look at all of our kids and I know without a doubt that they are loved and they know they are loved. I just hope and pray they will always remember that! So here are just a few thoughts for each of my kids. I hope you will indulge me.

What Abbie Loves: Her Frenz, Her Phone, Music, Dancing, Boyz, Her Dog, Her Family

My Favorite Moment: My "Mom" Hug & Kiss every time she comes home...Never misses one!

My WISH for Abbie: That she will find her own way. That she will become the beautiful young woman inside her. That she will continue to be my friend. That she will know I will be here for her through the good and the bad.

What Connor Loves: Basketball, Skateboarding, Dogs, Vets, Jazz, Playing Guitar

My Favorite Moment: Playing "Mario Party 8" Alone with Connor

My WISH for Connor: That he will grow up to be a strong, independent adult. That he will always lead by example to his brothers and his friends. That he will be a hard worker like his dad. That he will value marriage and his wife like his dad does. That he will never stop laughing.

What Cydnee Loves: Monkees, Dancing, Art, Dolls, Anything Pink, Anything High School Musical or Hannah Montana

My Favorite Moment: My special notes, art work, and colorful letters on my whiteboard in my office.

My WISH for Cydnee: That she will grow up with a very strong sense of self. That she will have the belief in herself to do whatever she puts her mind up to do. That she will have love in her heart as strong as does today...tomorrow. That she will know how much I love her. That she will know I will be her best friend forever.

What Chase Loves: Riding his Scooter, Skateboarding, Golfing, Fishing, Playing Video Games, BYU

My Favorite Moment: Snuggling with Chase during Family Movie Night

My WISH for Chase: That he always press forward. That he always realize what a wonderful and sweet person he is and how much potential he has. That he knows how much we love and believe in him. That he knows, no matter where I am, with him or not, that I he's my heart!

What Jaxon Loves: Lighting McQueen, Spiderman, Guitar Hero, Pop Tarts, Alvin & the "Chicmunks"

My Favorite Moment: Every single time he tells me "Mommy you're my best friend!" (Even when he's trying to get out of being in trouble!)
My WISH for Jaxon: That he grows up knowing what joy he has brought to my life. That he knows how much I love him and of all children in heaven to be blessed with for my last child...I couldn't have been blessed with one greater or more sweeter. He's my Pookie!

A Lasting Impression...

Yep, Two Posts today! But this one is mainly for Tiff and Drewsy!

Tonight Chris and I to had date night! We just had to bring Jaxon with us. Of course we are kind of used to that, but the fact that we were going to his home-away-from-home, the "movee feater", we knew we were still going to enjoy ourselves!

So all day I kept preparing him for our night out telling him what we were going to do. Did the usual mommy tricks and leveraged the evenings activities to coax him into good behavior and of course a lengthy nap time. And sweet little angel boy that he is would do everything I asked ever so obediently and with so much excitement because we were going to the "movee feater!"

As we were driving to the movie Chris and I were talking and Jaxon looked so excited. He suddenly asked me, "Mom, is the movee feater big far far away, or a little far far away?" I started laughing because that was Drew's favorite question to ask and he obviously picked it up from her during our week in Portland. I answered him and said, "Nope, it's just a little bit far far away."

Jaxon then saw the movie theatre that we reguarly attend and he said, or should say loudly protested, "MOM! This not a movee feater. This is 'Popcorn!' We going to MOVEE FEATER!" I then realized that through mine and Tiff's description of where we were taking the kids on two separate nights during our trip, and the old-fashioned, uniqueness of the Adults-Only on a Wednesday Night Movee Feater, had resignated with Jaxon, and that's where he thought we were going. I quickly told him that we couldn't go to that movie theatre and that we would have to go on an airplane to get to that one. Of course he wanted to do that right away...and he wanted his Drew!

So Drewsy, know how much your BEST FRIEND Jaxon misses you! And he no longer wants to go movies without you! He wants to do Wonder Markers with you! He misses watching Munks with you and Mason! And he misses having all those great kid-to-kid conversations every day!

We hope we don't have to wait too long to see you guys again!

We love you!

Ooh...La...La

Yeah, so I'm not able to sleep! What's new right?
